We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Sarah Bezanson to the role of Medical Site Lead, Hants Community Hospital, commencing June 1, 2025.
Dr. Bezanson completed her post-secondary education at Dalhousie University in Halifax. She holds a combined undergraduate degree in Biology and Computer Science, a Master’s in Health Informatics, and earned her medical degree in 2012. After completing her Family Medicine residency in 2014, she began working in the Emergency Department at Hants Community Hospital (HCH), where she has remained a dedicated member of the team.
Dr. Bezanson later pursued additional training in acute care and successfully challenged the Emergency Medicine exam. For the past year, she has worked part-time in the Emergency Department at the QEII in Halifax while continuing her work at HCH. She has most recently held the NSH leadership role of Co-Physician Lead of the HCH ED since 2023.
Originally from Halifax, Dr. Bezanson now lives nearby with her family and their Newfoundland dog, Oreo. Outside of work, she enjoys running, sailing, and spending time with her loved ones.
We extend our sincerest thanks to Dr. Cathryn Smith who held the role of HCH Medical Site Lead for many years and who has been committed to enhancing care at HCH (and the community of Windsor and beyond) for a great portion of her career in family medicine.
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Bezanson to this important physician leadership role in our zone!
